TWO NEW SETTLEMENTS RELATED TO THE DEEPWATER HORIZON OIL SPILL REACHED
NEW PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS TO GIVE INFORMATION TO THOSE WHO MIGHT BE ELIGIBLE FOR PAYMENTS
Two new settlements, totaling $1.2 billion have been reached with Halliburton and Transocean over the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. People and/or businesses across the Gulf Coast region may be eligible for payments from these settlements pending in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. The majority of the money will go toward compensating local fishermen as well as individuals, businesses, local governments, and other entities.
This message is important because the people and/or businesses affected have various rights, including the right to file claims, request exclusion from or object to either or both settlements.
